First Silicon Power Salon Successfully Held

Silicon Power Technology held its first ‘Silicon Power Salon’ in Chengdu on Feb. 23, 2019. Jiang Jun, Secretary General of Chengdu CICA(CHENGDU INTEGRATED CIRCUIT INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION), Ye Pei, the representative of Moore Elite, and Jesse Parker, the General Manager of Silicon Power Technology gave their speeches on topics concerning China’s current power semiconductor development and breakthroughs, semiconductor service provider’s strategy  of helping startup and early-stage companies, as well as startup challenges. The communication and discussion among the participants including university students, young talents and semiconductor startups and other company delegates were active and efficient, and everyone received a nice gift.

‘Silicon Power Technology is a sino-foreign joint venture and also an incubator which identifies and incubates those qualified and promising power semiconductor startup teams. The startups only need to bring their ideas and teams to the incubator who will provide them with comprehensive services including free office space, high-speed Internet, legal consulting, patents application, accounting, company registration, HR, website maintenance and official accounts operation, company promotion, subsidy application as well as chip trial production, cooperation liaison with big companies, and fundraising in later stage, in order to help them realize their dreams,’ said Jesse Parker in his speech.

Jesse Parker further interpreted the implication of innovation from his own rich experience and unique vision. He pointed out that innovation is actually something that has not come into anyone else’s mind, which is noble, unique, and can’t be copied by others. The most important thing for innovation is addressing the market, as many unique things have no access to the market. In addition, the product development of high gross margin and multiple times is also an important factor for innovation.

As for the risk of failure that challenges the startup teams, Jesse Parker had his own opinion. ‘You should see the failure in a positive way. A failure in entrepreneurship doesn’t mean a loser. The experience from failure will enable you with good benefit leading to your success,’ said Jesse Parker.

Jesse Parker specifically spoke about technology, product, finance, private equity and listed companies from his years of experience.

Jiang Jun pointed out in his speech that Chengdu CICA(CHENGDU INTEGRATED CIRCUIT INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION) aims to play its role of leader and bonder to establish an IC industry ecosystem in Chengdu or even Sichuan Province expecting breakthroughs made by semiconductor companies in characteristic sectors. It will also help with key semiconductor companies’ growing up. Chengdu CICA(CHENGDU INTEGRATED CIRCUIT INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION) will make further cooperation with Silicon Power Technology in the field of power semiconductor. As Jesse Parker, the general manager of Silicon Power Technology boasts abundant semiconductor expertise, unique and accurate vision in technology and industry development, rich management experience in first class international semiconductor enterprises, years of accumulated international industry network, efficient business management model, and most important of all, the passion of helping China’s power semiconductor development , Chengdu CICA(CHENGDU INTEGRATED CIRCUIT INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION) will spare no effort to offer support to Silicon Power Technology’s projects.

Ye Pei from Moore Elite pointed out in his speech that China’s chip market size was up to approximately US$350 billion in 2018, of which the imported chips took up $US312 billion, while China’s domestic chips only $US38 billion with less than 15% of market share. It is estimated that by 2025, China’s domestic chips will have had its market share increased to 75%. As a result, in the coming decade, China’s domestic chip companies will expect great development.

Moore Elite will closely grasp the opportunities and play its role in giving comprehensive support to startups and early-stage companies in terms of talents and technology.
